At Mass on the feast of Saint Francis of Assisi, marking the eighth centenary of his death, Cardindal Matteo Zuppi says that, at a time when “we are tempted and seduced by a vulgar, overbearing and deceptive culture of power”, fuelled also by “enormous economic interests” and “nationalisms”, peace “begins with us and is the only possible future”. The way forward is to disarm “our hands and our hearts”
